Bigfoot�s Tea Party are proud to return to Glasgow�s beautiful Courtyard to begin our 2010 residency with more of Europe�s top electronic artists. The West Nile Street venue has been a good friend of ours for a good while and since we last visited back in September with London�s Kanio (Novakane), new owners have revamped the two level outdoor space giving it even more of a welcoming feel. On Saturday 3rd April we begin a special series of events in appreciation of the continued high level of quality output from a very talented pool of Dutch DJs and producers.

First up to headline for us this Spring is none other than monster track maker DAVID LABEIJ (Remote Area). Along with releasing on seminal Dutch labels 100% Pure and Intacto as one half of Polder, David is a member of the highly regarded Amsterdam 661 Collective that includes the Polder boys (Lauhaus and Labeij), Julien Chaptal, Boris Werner, Kabale und Liebe and Quazar. Both Polder and 661 projects have increased Labeij�s stock as a live performer, cemented his position as a crucial component in the Dutch techno scene and brought performances across Europe at Fabric, Awakenings, T-Bar, 5 Days Off and the influential Dutch venues Studio 80 and Melkweg.

While clearly a very sought after collaborator David keeps some of his talents to himself, incessantly building a discography packed full of wonderful techno and house tracks. Featuring on 2000 and One�s first ever mix CD earlier this year, David also regularly releases on home of �new school� Dutch masters - Remote Area - on top of being known in the Lowlands for building grooving, intelligent, fast paced DJ sets.

With so much already under his belt this young man is sure to have us swinging from the Courtyard plant pots! Welcome him with us as we feast on a BBQ throughout the day and let some of Scotland�s top residents take you on a cracking techno journey. Early birds are greeted with open arms! The day doesn�t take long to warm up (outdoor heaters/top class food), so come and enjoy the music, surroundings and fresh faces early on. For added encouragement there is a free BBQ and vodka jelly included with the ticket (while stocks last of course). Bigfoot's will be showcasing a series of short experimental films this summer beginning at this event so watch carefully if you get a buzz out of that sort of caper. To top it off we�ve also hooked up for an after party in Sub Club! Me o my.

Website Bio
David Labeij (27) started dj-ing in 1998. As soon as the minimal scene emerged in Europe, David was one of the first to start promoting the "clicks and cuts" full heartedly in the Netherlands, through spinning, and organizing the infamous "Berlin Underground" nights in Amsterdam, with appearences by Richie Hawtin, Zip, Magda, Ricardo Villalobos, Sammy Dee, Tom Clark and Ata. Simultaniously he started producing his own material. As a result of sending out demos during 2003 he was asked to spend some time in Junkie XL's studio so he could improve and develop his production skills, after which David spent most of his free time producing in his own studio set up. Since then he has appeared at 5 Days Off, Awakenings and Fabric while producing tracks alongside Lauhaus as Polder and plays live as part of the 661 Laptop Collective.
