Not much is known about Leroy Hanghofer except that he's from Munich and recorded the songs on this album between 1999 and 2002. However with a name that wouldn't be out of place in Boogie Nights, it comes as no surprise that Leroy's music would fit in perfectly on a porn soundtrack. That's to say that it's slightly sleazy and incorporates elements of disco, house and electro giving a slightly retro feel. Make no mistake though - this is no cheap novelty record.

With tracks such as 'Das Pi', which would fit easily into most house DJ's sets, Leroy proves he can keep the dancefloor moving as dirty funk guitars mix with a low-slung groove. But songs like 'Traumerei' (featuring The Frauleins) show that he's also capable of melancholic bubblegum pop. On the other hand, 'Klon (Your Body)' is a superb piece of electro-disco without verging on the cheesy or trendy.

While 'White Trash' may encapsulate a number of different styles, they link together well as they all have Leroy's distinctive sound stamped all over them. The album may not be to everyone's tastes but it certainly succeeds in effectively mixing different genres together. It should appeal in particular to fans of Metro Area or the Disco Nouveau series.
