Another solid EP from French duo The Youngsters with A-side track 'Break
Them Up' the one that's really been doing it on the dancefloors. Sounding
like a souped-up version of much of Primate's output, this track really
kicks when played loud. A rolling bassline, pounding beats and simple
sounds are all that's necessary to create this particular club stormer.
On the B-side, 'Mellotron' uses a Hacker-esque bassline to build up a
groove then introduces vocal snippets and string stabs before the strings really
start to soar. A fairly simple but particularly groovy piece of French
electronica. However despite the title, I can't say the same for 'Ta Meuf
Electrique' which is the only track of the three to let the side down with
a fairly bog-standard dubby techno effort.
